Парлаторий

Информации о Парлатории очень мало. Словарь ограничивается сухой фразой:

“parlatorio - m., приёмная, комната для свиданий (в закрытых учебных заведениях, монастырях, тюрьмах)”
© Большой итальяно-русский словарь.

Вероятнее всего, "парлаторий" восходит к лат. "parlare" - говорить; Отсюда же происходит "parlour" - гостиная, кабинет. Последнее, согласно Википедии, использовалось для обозначения комнат (помещений) при монастыре, одна из которых предназначалась для решения внутренних проблем. Здесь, в остальное время хранившие обет молчания, духовные лица могли спокойно говорить друг с другом. Помещение было разделено деревянной решёткой. Любопытно, что монахини и священники стояли по разные стороны стены.
Другое помещение, по всей видимости, предназначалось для ведения разного рода переговоров и общения с посетителями. В книге А. Виноградова "Осуждение Паганини", читаем:

“После двух дней тщетных просьб синьора подала жалобу монсиньору епископу города Ниццы. На третий день она была допущена в парлаторий местного монастыря и через решетку, издали, увидела осанистого и важного молодого человека.”

Свою роль Парлаторий сыграл и во время эпидемии:

“Карантинные здания оказались поделены на отдельные помещения, каждое - с выходом в отдельный дворик. Перед окнами зябко шуршали безлиственные в эту пору акации.
В общей ограде можно было увидеть особую крытую галерею: две стенки из деревянных решеток и между ними коридор - он разделял тех, кто подходил к карантину со стороны города, и тех, кто пребывал в карантине. Галерея называлась итальянским словом parlatorio ("говорильня", точнее - место для разговоров). Возле ограды стоял часовой.”

“Этим именем назывался открытый игорный дом, разрешенный правительством, в котором дозволено было держать банк только патрициям, но в котором всякий мог понтировать. Ридотто было настоящим центром тогдашней венецианской жизни. Здесь завязывались любовные интриги, здесь начиналась карьера авантюристов. Здесь заканчивались веселые ужины и ученые заседания. Сюда приходили после прогулки в гондоле, после театра, после часов безделья в кафе на Пьяцце, после свидания в своем казино.”
